Happy 4th, 5th and 7th Birthday

Birthday season is fun each year, but it's also a lot of work!  I recognize my limits, which Danny is glad to hear, so I don't plan on ever attempting to throw each of them an elaborate birthday party all the same year.  While they are still young and share so many of the same friends,
it works out good to have one big party for all three!

Last year, we had Alexandra's party at the beach and it was a hit.  Since we have most of the beach equipment and party supplies we need  from last year, I thought It would be fun (and a little easier and less expensive to plan) to have their joint party this year at the beach.

It was, once again, a hit!  The girls love being at the beach with all their friends and for the most part, the parents get to sit back and relax!

Anna's Five Year Check-up!

She's a small five year-old, but as precious as she can be. Neither Danny nor I are tall, so we don't have great hopes for tall children (and I'm perfectly ok with that). This little Miss Priss is measuring at 40" tall and weighs 34 pounds.  These numbers put her in the 10th percentile for height and weight!  As the doctor said, we are just going to have a little petite princess!  She also passed her vision and hearing test with no problems and is growing just fine!  We are so thankful to God  for our healthy, growing girls!

Happy Birthday, Anna!

My Anna is 5!!!  She wanted a princess cake this year, so I decided to try and bake it myself.  I'll be the first one to admit that the kitchen is not my favorite room in the house!  I took to Pinterest to find a recipe, figure out how to put a layer cake together and how to ice a cake.  Anna was thrilled with her cake, so in my book it was a huge success!

The birthday girl was excited to have so many presents to open.
She also got a big package in the mail from MeMe and Poppy.

It's not every year...or ever...that one of my girls gets to have her cousin in town for her birthday,
so Anna felt super special that Lydia was here to celebrate with us!

Anna Learns to Ride her Bike!!!

It's always a momentous occasion with a child learns to ride their bike without training wheels!  Anna learned how to this past January! She is 4 years old and a pro...maybe a little too confident at times!

She's got it...and Daddy has a broken back!

 She loves it!!!

I love...

Anna's new expression is, "Mommy, I love...."  It's so funny to hear her say this and associate it with those things she loves the most such as:
  • I love ice cream.
  • I love Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
  • I love my blankie and alphie.
  • I love eggs.
  • I love breakfast.
The best is: "I love you, mommy," followed by a bear squeeze around my neck.
She can be so sweet...when she wants to be!

Puzzle Time....All the Time!

Our little Anna loves putting puzzles together.  I got the girls a 48 piece puzzle for Christmas, but it was really intended to be a more difficult puzzle for Aubrey.  What was I thinking.  Anna is all over that puzzle and can put the whole thing together by herself.  It may take her a while (30 minutes or so), but she sticks with it and gets it together.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Anna!

I absolutely can't believe that Anna is now two.  I have no idea where the time goes!  I still feel like she should be my little baby!

We threw her a small birthday party with family and a few of her little two-year old friends.  It was so funny, because Anna knew that this day was all about her and she LOVED it!

She had a flower themed party and there were flower pots that the kids could paint on, then plant seeds in to take home with them.  We also had the paint board and the chalk boards for the kids to be creative with!  Being an event planner, I like to plan cute parties, but I really had to stay on budget this year.  I think this is the cutest birthday party I've done for the girls and it was the cheapest!

I bought some tissue paper at cost online and started making tissue paper pom-poms a couple of weeks before the party.  They were cheap, easy to make and they were really cute, so I hung them everywhere.  The playroom, the kitchen, the dining room and over the kitchen table!  The girls couldn't believe it when I started hanging them everywhere!

When Sharon asked what she could do to help me with the party, I showed her a picture I found on the internet of a vegtable tray arranged as flowers.  I asked her if she wanted to try and of course she said, YES!  With a little help from Serena on the day of the party arranging the veggie pieces, I thought it came out great!

How cute is this?

The other food for the party was cheese straws, fuit,
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches shaped
like flowers (with a grape in the middle)
and of course, birthday cake!

I also made Anna a Happy Birthday Banner and she had a flower wall with pictures of her over the past year in the center of each flower.  There were all hung outside for the party, but I brought them inside and hung them in the playroom for us to continue celebrating Anna's birthday for the rest of the month!

As the party guest arrived, they were greeted by Anna's cute little face on the front door wreath (also made of tissue paper pom-poms)!

As I said earlier, Anna knew this day was her day and she was hamming it up!

The beautiful Birthday Girl!

Anna's guests included her cousins, Davis, Lydia and Matthew; Aunt Serena and Uncle Marvin; YaYa; MeMe and Poppy; her friends, Emaline Dupree with her daddy, Mr. Jud; Abigail Tanner with her brother, Jacob, her mommy, Ms. Michele and her daddy, Mr. Rob; Gabe Sell with his mommy, Ms. Joy and Mr. Bobby and Ms. Savannah.

Decorating Anna's flower pot!

Now we're planting her seeds!

Anna was so excited that everyone was singing
Happy Birthday to her!
Look at that face!  Pure joy!

The birthday cake must be good!

Time for painting!

This is some serious concentration while working on her masterpiece!

Presents!  I had to change Anna's clothes because she got paint
(thank goodness, washable paint) all over her dress!

A new babydoll!
Anna loves her babies so much!

Anna's giving her new baby a kiss!

The many faces of Anna are hilarious, but I captured her here showing me where her eyes, ears, mouth and nose are (after a few funny pics first)!
